If the Earth was a village…

In the name of Allah.

If we could shrink the earth’s population to village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratio remaining the same, it would look something like the following:

There would be:

57 Asians
21 Europeans
14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south
8 Africans

52 would be female
48 would be male

70 would be non-white
30 would be white

70 would be non-Christian
30 would be Christian

89 would be heterosexual
11 would be homosexual

6 people would possess 59% of the entire world’s wealth and all 6 would be from the United States.

80 would live in substandard housing

70 would be unable to read

50 would suffer from malnutrition

1 would be near death

1 would be near birth

1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education

1 would own a computer

When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for acceptance, understanding and education becomes glaringly apparent.

The following is also something to ponder…

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness…you are more blessed than many others. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation…you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death…you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep…you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace … you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If your parents are still alive and still married … you are very rare, even in the United States and Canada.

If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

Someone once said: What goes around comes around.

Work like you don’t need the money.
Love like you’ve never been hurt.
Dance like nobody’s watching.
Sing like nobody’s listening.
Live like it’s Heaven on Earth.

Final World Cup 2010 & Paul.

So, this year’s world cup marks the glory of an octopus called Paul. I didn’t really know about it in the beginning, but when Germany lost to Spain in the semi, somehow, I became very angry to that sutung!

Then I heard the prediction from it that in teh finals, Spain would win to Netherlands. Decided to not believe in it, I sided the Dutch. I mean, sotong kot weyh. There’s no way it would be possible for it to decide who wins and who loses.

Berkobar-kobar bangun 615am jsut to watch the game (nasib today’s class starts at 2pm).

The first half was a little bit slow. Not as slow as when the Germany was against Spain, but slow enough to be compared to the second half and the 30mins extra time. In the end, Iniesta scored 1 in the extra time, which brought Spain into lead. I was devastated back then. Ye la, first France, then Germany now Holland pulak at stake. I kept in mind, there’s no way that the octopus could have predicted correctly, again, this time.

In teh end, the wistle was blown, marking the end of the finals of World Cup 2010 in South Africa, Spain being the winner of the game.

In my opinion, it was a good game. But too rough, bringing down the quality of the game. I mean, just look at what happened throughout the game. Alonso kene kick, at his CHEST ok!. Sangat brutal.

Plus, there were a lot of yellow cards being given and a red one given to Heitanga, if I’m not mistaken.

On the other hand, I’m not saying this because I am with the Dutch, but the Spanish were somewhat like babies in the game. Good baby actors to be more accurate. Falling down, but crying out and rolling for whoknowshowmany times. Memang macam baby.

So, the man of the match was Andres Iniesta but for me it was definitely Arjen Robben. No doubt. He was speedy and he knows what it takes to get in between the Spanish. Tapi satu je slack. Sangat emosi ketika bermain. Takper. Better luck next time.

Now, let’s talk about Paul. I even searched for him on the net to really get to know this ‘thing’.

From Mr. Wiki, he’s actually a breed from England and now has decided to build a home in my country, Germany. It has been predicting results for Germany football matches since 2008 for Euro and now the World Cup. There were only two incorrect predictions made by him.

I still do not believe in him. Hey Paul from England who now lives in Germany, if I were to ever see you, you are so going to be my sotong goreng tepung!

Bukan sekadar kawanbagainakmati.

In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful. There is no God except Allah and Muhammad is his messenger.

Terasa jauh bila diperakukan sebegini.
Umpama padamu,diriku tiada erti.
Padahal kita saling memahami.

Aku adalah aku.
Dan kau adalah engkau.
tetapi kita adalah satu dibawah naungan Ilahi.

Ya Allah, minta dikuatkan hati dengan dijauhkan rasa benci.

Ukhuwwah bukan sekadar kawan bagai nak mati,
tetapi ikatan hati-hati,
keranaMu Ya Illahi.

Justeru jangan biar kami menjauh
bila syaitan semarakkan api.

Beri kami kekuatan untuk memohon dariMu Ya Allah,
moga kebencian dijauhkan,
moga hati dilembutkan,
moga lidah bijak mengatur bicara,
moga perbuatan tidak menyiksa,
agar ukhuwwah terbina tanpa fitnah.

Ya Allah yang maha penyayang,
kuatkanlah ikatan hati-hati kami!

Random May 13th.

Alhamdulillah. Today has been a super great day~ Like the best day ever in Dunedin. 😀

Started with the delivery of my box from Malaysia. At around 8 I think. Was breakfast with diba when someone know our door like super loud. Luckily it was just the Paul, the fedex man. He was nice, totally made my day with the early delivery and friendliness. Having to receive the box was already a happy point for me, what more to open the treasure that mama sent from Malaysia last month. Seronok tak ingat weyh!

Then, the day started with me going to the lib to fnish my essay. Around 9 a.m I think. It was definitely a brain-squeezing day. but manage to finish it. Alhamdulillah.

Then I went to the tutorial at 2. I was somehow very nervous about the tutorial task that we were suppose to do this week. Not that I did not do it, I did! It’s just the feeling, macam kecut perut out of no reasons. But everything turned out well actually. Nothing major happened.

Then, I went to meet Shirley to have some consultation about my essay. She read 3/4 of it and said it was interesting. Another YAY! point for me!. I know Shirley probably said that to everyone, but for me it’s different today. Today has been a tiring day and does anyone know how comforting it felt to hear those words from someone you look up to? *freak mumbling like crazy*

wow. I must be really, really tired.

being a part of someone’s life might not be the best thing.

we rely on others, more than we rely on Allah.

when you get too involved, you easily get hurt.

when you cannot achieve what you want, you quit.

when you have expectations on people,
those expectations might just dissapoint you.

we say things we,ourselves cannot accomplish.

we have to learn to let go.
we have to learn to not hate.
w have to learn to apologize.
we have to learn to accept.

we are only human.
we make mistakes.

Note to self: JUST DEAL WITH IT! and make changes.
